Our exchange visitor program provides foreign nationals the opportunity to spend one to three years living in South Carolina teaching students and enriching South Carolina 's school systems and communities. FACES sponsors teachers in a variety of subject areas including Special Education, Foreign Languages (Spanish, French, German, Latin), Mathematics, General Elementary, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Art and Music. We sponsor teachers in primary and secondary levels of education; kindergarten to 12th grade.
FACES locates positions for qualified foreign teachers in the state of South Carolina only. This ensures that all teachers are within a two hour drive of our main offices in Columbia , the capital city, located in the center of the state.
South Carolina is located on the southeastern coast of the United States and covers an area of about 30,000 square miles. The population of the state is over 4 million residents and growing. South Carolina has three main regions; the upstate, the midlands, and the low country. The upstate offers beautiful views of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains . The midlands boast Lake Murray and the capital city Columbia . The low country features some of South Carolina 's most famous cities, Myrtle Beach and historic Charleston , one of the oldest cities in America . South Carolina enjoys moderate weather throughout the year. Snow may fall only one or two days per year in most of the state. Sunny skies and warm temperatures are the general rule.
