The U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section, Ashgabat, announces that its fourth Fulbright conference will be held April 26-27, 2008 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in the Ak-Altyn Hotel. The theme of the Conference will be "Global Environmental Issues and Ecology Development".
Conference registration is open to USG-program alumni, researches, and practitioners from Turkmenistan, and Fulbright-program alumni from Central Asia, Russia and Azerbaijan. Due to space limitations, we may have to close registration when capacity is reached, both for the attendance at the conference and the conference thesis brochure publication. Those wishing to present a paper at the conference, and publish thesis, are welcome to submit a proposal/thesis in accordance with the main themes of the conference which are: Current trends of ecology development and environmental protection of Turkmenistan; World practice in rational use of natural resources; Global health and environment; Regional and international cooperation in ecology development; Ecological rights and citizens participation in environmental protection; etc.The conference will also provide an opportunity for Fulbright/Humphrey alumni to discuss establishing a Turkmen Fulbright Club.
It is planned to schedule the following discussion sessions:
-Technology and economy development and its impact on environment and ecology;

IATP: Funded by USAID, the Internet Access and Training Program (IATP) consist of a network of Internet Centers located throughout 11 countries of Eurasia. Through these Centers, thousands of individuals per month receive free-of-charge access to the Internet as well as to a wide variety of computer-related training programs. Position: Program Associate
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Manage the technical aspects for activities related to IATP in Azerbaijan;
· Compile and maintain a country-wide training catalogue;
· Maintain direct contact with IATP trainers to gather user feedback and alter course catalogue and syllabi;
· Travel to each IATP site to assess training activities and provide feedback to IATP trainers;
· Deliver trainings and background presentations at conferences and to special audience;
· Collaborate with local institutions to establish on-line resources, including web sites, electronic publications, databases, archives and electronic mailing lists;
· Assist the Country Coordinator with collecting and systematizing IATP user information, special events, success stories and other statistics as requested by IREX.
· Organize and support seminars, conferences, and other events for IATP target audiences;
· Write news articles and success stories about program activities;
· Organize and moderate forums and other online events;
· Distribute various administrative/ program announcements to IATP sites in regions;
· Maintain electronic mailing lists;
· Translate diverse documents in English and Azeri;
· Provide verbal and written information to interested parties about the activities of IATP;
· Assist the IATP Country Coordinator in creating, editing, and spreading IATP promotional materials.
· Other duties as indicated by IATP Country Coordinator
The following qualifications are required:
· Experience in writing articles
· High computer literacy
· Proficiency in English and Azeri (Knowledge of Russian language will be a plus)
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work in a team
· Organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills

Since IREX realizing different Exchange and International projects, applicants address with a lot of questions of filling the applications. According to the results of Exchange Programs, lately Lankaran RLIC realized that the lack knowledge of fulfilling the application forms, writing essays, personal statements, cover letter and etc. prevents some youngsters to apply for Exchange programs.
Posting information about workshops on CV, Cover Letter and other topics that we realize at RLIC Lankaran with the cooperation PCVs to yahoogroups , made us sure that community and youngsters need to know more about those skills. Seeing as not all applicants are able come to Lankaran and participate at workshops, Lankaran RLIC staff thought could may be help to educate people i an different way and another way of solving this problem is to realize it via online :)

1. Hər bir kəs öz fikrini bildirmək hüququna malikdir.Bu hüquqa öz fikrində qalmaq, informasiya və ideyaları dövlət orqanları tərəfindən müdaxilə olmadan və dövlət sərhədlərindən asılı olmayaraq almaq və yaymaq hüququ daxildir.

Öhdəlik və məsuliyyəti özündə saxlayan bu azadlıqların həyata keçirilməsi qanunla nəzərdə tutulmuş və demokratik cəmiyyətlərdə dövlət təhlükəsizliyi, ərazi bütövlüyü və ictimai sabitlik baxımından zəruri olan qarışıqlıq və cinayətkarlığın qarşısının alınması, sağlamlıq və mənəviyyatın qorunması, digər şəxslərin ad-sanının və ya hüquqlarının müdafiəsi, məxfi şəkildə alınmış informasiyanın açıqlanmasının qarşısını almaq və ya ədalət mühakiməsinin hörmətini və qərəzsizliyini təmin etmək məqsədilə formallıqlarla, şərtlərlə, məhdudiyyətlərləvə ya cərimə sanksiyaları ilə bağlı ola bilər.
Yaxınlarda Lənkəranın görkəmli şəxsiyyətləri haqqında kitab dərc olunacaq. Həmin görkəmli şəxsiyyətlər arasında Lənkəranın inkişaf etməsində xüsusi əməyi olan babamŞükür Rəhimov haqqında məlumat dərc olunacaq.
Şükür Rəhimov rayon partiya komitəsi katibinin müavini, 1964-Lənkəran rayon İcraiyyə komitəsinin sədri vəzifəsində işləmiş, işlədiyi dövrdə (1964-1970) insanların həyat səviyyəsini yaxşılaşdırmış, əməyə münasibəti kökündən dəyişmiş və hamının tanıdığı Kənarmeşə kəndində 600 nəfərlik məktəblinin istirahət edə bilməsi üçün pioner düşərgəsinin salınmasında təşəbbüsü olan ilk səxs olmuşdur. Əfsuslar olsunki, hazırda həmin düşərgə müxtəlif sakinlər tərəfindən mənimsənilmişdir....
