IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board) is a US nonprofit organization specializing in higher education, independent media, Internet development, and civil society programs in the United States, Europe, Eurasia, the Near East, and Asia. IATP: Funded by USAID, the Internet Access and Training Program (IATP) consist of a network of Internet Centers located throughout 11 countries of Eurasia. Through these Centers, thousands of individuals per month receive free-of-charge access to the Internet as well as to a wide variety of computer-related training programs. IATP in Tajikistan has seven IATP Centers and two Independent Internet Centers throughout the country. Full information about IATP in Central Asia is available at http://www.iatp.net
Position: Program Associate
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Manage the technical aspects for activities related to IATP in Azerbaijan;
· Compile and maintain a country-wide training catalogue;
· Maintain direct contact with IATP trainers to gather user feedback and alter course catalogue and syllabi;
· Travel to each IATP site to assess training activities and provide feedback to IATP trainers;
· Deliver trainings and background presentations at conferences and to special audience;
· Collaborate with local institutions to establish on-line resources, including web sites, electronic publications, databases, archives and electronic mailing lists;
· Assist the Country Coordinator with collecting and systematizing IATP user information, special events, success stories and other statistics as requested by IREX.
· Organize and support seminars, conferences, and other events for IATP target audiences;
· Write news articles and success stories about program activities;
· Organize and moderate forums and other online events;
· Distribute various administrative/ program announcements to IATP sites in regions;
· Maintain electronic mailing lists;
· Translate diverse documents in English and Azeri;
· Provide verbal and written information to interested parties about the activities of IATP;
· Assist the IATP Country Coordinator in creating, editing, and spreading IATP promotional materials.
· Other duties as indicated by IATP Country Coordinator
The following qualifications are required:
· Experience in writing articles
· High computer literacy
· Proficiency in English and Azeri (Knowledge of Russian language will be a plus)
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work in a team
· Organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills

Since IREX realizing different Exchange and International projects, applicants address with a lot of questions of filling the applications. According to the results of Exchange Programs, lately Lankaran RLIC realized that the lack knowledge of fulfilling the application forms, writing essays, personal statements, cover letter and etc. prevents some youngsters to apply for Exchange programs.
Posting information about workshops on CV, Cover Letter and other topics that we realize at RLIC Lankaran with the cooperation PCVs to yahoogroups , made us sure that community and youngsters need to know more about those skills. Seeing as not all applicants are able come to Lankaran and participate at workshops, Lankaran RLIC staff thought could may be help to educate people i an different way and another way of solving this problem is to realize it via online :)

Lankaran Regional Library Information Center (RLIC) started in June, 2007Since that time Lankaran RLIC realized 7 online projects and more offline projects, including seminars, trainings, workshops and meetings.

FLEX alumnis of different years and FLEX winners of 2007-2008 years were invited to RLIC center to give a chance to secondary school students to communicate with FLEX alumnis, discuss the topics that they need to know, celebrate the 15 years of the FLEX program and congratulate the new winners.

Purpose of activity: As an opportunity to recognize the potential of youth, to celebrate their achievements, and plan for ways to better engage young people to take action and make a difference in their generation.Bringing above mentioned subjects into the light through campaigns and discussions can help today’s young people make wise choices for their own life regarding the issues of education, health, juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, poverty and HIV/AIDS; and help them to effectively participate in decision-making at all levels of the society. Involve and inspire them successfully reach for a better future for all.

During this project the participants will make researches in Internet and exchange the information they have found.
To give them an opportunity for independent work in making of material (article and photos) about monuments, in order to develop their understanding that they are full members of society and they must preserve our historical monuments.
Forum guest: Jane Flegal, Peace Corps Volunteer. The purpose of this project: As an educational endeavor to give students the chance to learn about their own culture as well as other cultures. Helping others understand one's own culture, giving others the chance to have a realistic view about one's own culture. Help Peace Corps Volunteers to get more info about Azerbaijan, it’s customs and tradition, in order to make life easy for them. In this project participants study other country’s culture, traditions, and ways of life. Participants make comparisons of their culture and other cultures to find similarities and differences. Participants can write about their daily lives, how to celebrate weddings, and / or what they do on special occasions and get to know the daily lives and specially occasions of other country about Peace Corps Organization.
The Regional Library Information Centers (RLIC) project has been establishing computers centers for public use at the regional libraries since September 2004. The project is funded by the United States Embassy to Azerbaijan and is administered by IREX
